Want to see inside the renovated Belleville City Hall? Here’s your chance.
The 14-month project to renovate Belleville City Hall is now complete. The public is invited to a rededication ceremony, ribbon cutting and open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at 101 S. Illinois St.
The ceremony will be at 10 a.m. Russell K. Scott, chairman of the Board of Fire and Police Commission, will serve as the master of ceremonies.
Mayor Mark Eckert said, in a news release: “This revitalized building will enhance our city services, and by doing so, benefit our citizens and represent the committed values of the city of Belleville. Renovations include provisions for Americans with Disabilities Act compliance, asbestos abatement, improved energy efficiencies, safety and security upgrades, and enhanced service areas.”
The cost of the project was about $5 million.
Parking will be available in the St. Clair County garage and on First and Harrison streets. For more information, go online to www.belleville.net.
