Wood-fired restaurant moves in where Ravanelli’s moved out in O’Fallon

Ravanelli’s Restaurant in O’Fallon has closed, and a new eatery has opened in its place.

Fire-N-Smoke Wood-Fired Kitchen has opened at that site, 1214 Central Park Plaza, a week after Ravanelli’s had closed. The new eatery features wood-fired dishes such as pulled pork, brisket, chicken and turkey.

Ravanelli’s Restaurant co-owner Steve Edwards opened the Fire-N-Smoke Wood-Fired Kitchen in Troy last November. He is expanding the restaurant to a second location.

Ravanelli’s Restaurant will remain open in Collinsville and Granite, where it initially opened in 1964.

Robust Wine Bar is closing its Edwardsville location after less than two years in business. The wine bar at 126 N. Main St. opened in August 2013 after another wine bar, The Erato, had previously vacated that same location. Owners Stanley and Arlene Browne said they are transitioning and focusing on their two other Robust Wine Bar locations in St. Louis and Webster Groves, Mo., as well as a catering business. The couple also said that an Edwardsville-based restaurateur plans to reoccupy their Edwardsville location soon. Stay tuned.
