Some lanes on Illinois 15 through Belleville will be restricted. How long?
Both the eastbound and westbound sides of Illinois 15 will have intermittent lane closures in Belleville where the Illinois 13 bridge crosses the highway.
The lane restrictions are necessary because the Illinois 13 bridge needs to be painted, according to the Illinois Department of Transportation. Illinois 13 in this area is also known as Old St. Louis Road.
On Thursday, the eastbound side was reduced to one lane.
Also, crews will paint the eastbound Illinois 15 bridge that crosses the westbound lanes of Illinois 15 near the Illinois 13 bridge.
The work is expected to be completed by the end of June.
