Lockdown ends in medical building at Memorial Hospital in Belleville
The lockdown of a medical office building at Memorial Hospital in Belleville due to a threat Thursday has ended, the hospital said.
Appointments will resume Friday morning at Medical Office Building 3 as scheduled with BJC HealthCare security stationed at the front door, BJC HealthCare said in a statement.
“While the closure has ended, we will remain vigilant as we take these threats seriously to protect our staff, visitors and patients,” the statement said.
The building that was on lockdown is also known as the Orthopedic & Neurosciences Center at 4700 Memorial Drive.
The remainder of the hospital campus remained open under police presence, BJC HealthCare said.
The nature of the threat made was not released.
