Art on the Square continues Saturday with more fun. Here’s the schedule

Belleville’s 23rd annual Art on the Square festival continues Saturday with a full schedule of events that includes more food, entertainment and activities.

Don’t miss the wide variety of art by artists from throughout the U.S. as well as the artist demonstrations by members of the Gateway East Artist Guild, craft activities for the kids at the Children’s Art Garden, and student artworks included in the High School Art Competition.

Food and beverages are available at Café on the Square, which can be found at the northeast and southeast corners of the square.

Hours for are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.

Saturday, May 17

  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Shelley Loring, pastel

  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Michael Anderson, acrylic

  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Brenda Hopkins, oil

  • 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. – High School Exhibition, MMR building, 23 Public Square (Voting for People’s Choice Award ends at 6 p.m.)

  • 11 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. – Wine Court Entertainment: Don James and Friends

  • 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. – Children’s Art Garden (Free admission)

  • 1-4 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Suzy Kunz, inks

  • 1-4 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Janet Morelko-Gagen, jewelry

  • 1-4 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Shada Vega, mixed media

  • 1:45-4 p.m. – Wine Court Entertainment: Anita Rosamond Band

  • 4-7 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Terri Cheatham, wire wrapping

  • 4-7 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Vaneese Shaw, paper arts

  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Jay Burgmann, watercolor/gouache

  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Betty Burgmann, acrylic/watercolor

  • Noon to 4 p.m. – Children’s Art Garden (Free admission)

  • 2 p.m. – High School Exhibition Awards Ceremony, Main Tent in front of the Courthouse

  • 2-5 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: Cori Frerichs, watercolor

  • 2-5 p.m. – GEAG Artist Demonstration: David Carriel, photography

  • 2:15-5 p.m. – Wine Court Entertainment: Street Corner Serenade

Shuttle Service

St. Clair County Transit District shuttle service will be available for attendees of Art on the Square.

On Saturday and Sunday, service from the Scheel Street MetroLink station resumes at 10 a.m. with buses running every 20 minutes. The last buses leave downtown at 8:20 p.m. Saturday and 5:20 p.m. Sunday.
