Get your lawn chairs ready. Shriners parade returns to Belleville this week
Look out for lawn chairs along Belleville’s Main Street over the next couple of days. It’s time again for the Ainad Shriners Parade.
The parade takes place Friday at 7:30 p.m. and features the Ainad Krazy Klowns, marching bands, motorcycles, cars, floats, and Shriners dressed as animals.
The route starts at West A and North Third streets, travels west on A Street across West Main to West Washington, east to South Third and back to West Main. From there, the procession continues east along Main Street, through the Public Square and ends at Charles Street.
The party continues Saturday at Arsenal BG Ballpark, home of the Gateway Grizzlies, for Shriners Day at the Ballpark.
The gates open at 3:15 p.m., and the circus starts at 4 p.m. featuring clowns, mini cars, and the acrobatics of Circus Flora. The Shriners parade begins at 5 p.m. as the upper deck opens.
The first pitch is at 6 p.m., and the game between the Gateway Grizzlies and Mississippi Mud Monsters starts at 6:30 p.m.
General admission for Shriners Day at the Ballpark is $16 per person, all ages.
A limited number of all-inclusive tickets are also available, covering party suite seating, food and beverages. Prices are $70 for adults and $40 for kids 12 and under. All-inclusive tickets are available only through the Ainad office by calling 618-874-1870.
Arsenal BG Ballpark is located at 2301 Grizzlie Bear Blvd. in Sauget.
