A lot of sole: Local Boy Scouts collect 26,000 pairs during shoe drive

Local Boy Scouts have collected more than 26,000 pairs of used shoes for those in need.

The Lewis & Clark Council of the Boy Scouts held their 2nd annual Soles4Souls shoe drive on Sept. 11, in honor of the National Day of Service. In the last two drives combined, the scouts have collected more than 60,000 pairs of shoes.

Soles4Souls is a not-for-profit institution based in Nashville, Tenn., dedicated to fighting poverty by collecting unwanted shoes that are donated repurposed to create jobs in poverty stricken communities.
