Business Briefing: New in-home care network opens in metro-east

A chain of in-home care centers and a group of medical alert systems have partnered to provide a new service in the metro-east.

Home Helpers and Direct Link have teamed to provide in-home care for senior citizens, new mothers and those recuperating from surgery and injuries. Direct Link provides a line of 24/7 medical alert systems, and Home Helpers has a network of in-home care providers throughout the country.


Mercedes has issued a recall for more than 126,000 cars and SUVs across the nation because of faulty air bags. Airbags in the C-300, C-350, and C-63 models from 2008 and 2009, and the GLK-350 4-Matic from 2010 have been found not to inflate on impact. Read more here.


Volkswagen has made a recall of about 92,000 U.S. cars with failing brakes. The German auto maker has reported incidents of the camshaft in the Beetle, Golf, Jetta and Passat models from 2015 and 2016 shearing off and causing loss of vacuum in the power brakes. Learn more here.
