Impact Strategies has been awarded the contract to develop the new Hofbräuhaus beer hall and restaurant in Belleville.

The Fairview Heights-based construction company will build the restaurant at 123 St. Eugene Drive, directly across the street from the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows. The Bavarian-style eatery will be based on the original one built in Munich.

Impact Strategies President Mark Hinrichs said the project provides his team the opportunity to develop and construct a building with unique architecture unlike any other that his company has been a part of before. He said the new development will be a tremendous attraction in the metro-east.

“Obvioulsy, it’s a fascinating project,” Hinrichs said. “The charm of the European style of building goes back centuries ago when this concept was first developed. It is a very, very unique building and a very, very unique business to bring to the area. There is nothing quite like it here and that means a lot of excitement for our team to be involved.”

This project is part of a $50 million mixed-use development that will include restaurants, hotels and a 30,000-square-foot convention center.

The new Belleville-based Hofbräuhaus St. Louis will be only the eighth Hofbräuhaus restaurant location in the United States, joining others in Newport, Ky. in greater Cincinnati; Las Vegas, Nev.; Rosemont, Ill. in the Chicago area; Cleveland; Columbus, Ohio and St. Petersburg, Fla.
