Belleville Gingerbread 5K winners can pick up trophies at Parks Department
Hundreds jammed downtown Belleville streets for the annual Gingerbread 5K Run/Walk on Saturday morning.
Because of a computer glitch, organizers could not immediately release the names of the category winners and the trophies were not handed out during the awards ceremony.
Debbie Belleville, director of the Belleville Parks and Recreation Department, said participants can go to bigriverracemanagement.com to see the results.
Runners who won trophies will be able to pick them up at the Parks and Recreation Department from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. The office is at 510 W. Main St. For more information, call 618-233-1416.
Belleville said other than the timing glitch, “everything else went great.”
Jon Yoch of Collinsville won the male division with a time of 17:33 and Crystal Harriss of Glen Carbon won the female division with a time of 18:52.
Dan Hurst of Fairview Heights won the drawing for the iPad Air. People who participated in the Law Day Run, Tour de Belleville and the Gingerbread Run qualified for this drawing.
Belleville said 762 people registered for the event and there were 160 volunteers. She thanked the Lincoln Theatre for allowing the runners to gather there for the awards ceremony.
