Belleville’s West Main Street to be closed at railroad crossing

West Main Street will be closed on Tuesday at the railroad crossing near Lindenwood University-Belleville while Norfolk Southern upgrades the crossing.

The work is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. and may be finished by 7 p.m., said Tim Gregowicz, the city’s engineer.

Motorists can bypass the roadwork by taking a detour via North 28th Street and North 17th Street. South Belt West also can be used to get around the work site.
