Highland High School has announced its 2016 Homecoming Court.
Freshman representatives: Lauren Oberkfell, Lia Basden, Carter Wiegman and Brylee Portell.
Sophomore representatives: Lexi Gibbons, Carly Rakers, Brooke Wilson, Lexy Gilliam, Heather Kim, Nick Sikora, David Pitkin, Jack Etter, Danny Osborn and Albert Blackman.
Junior representatives: Rece Portell, Whitney Roberts, Kayla Davis, Lacey Grawe, Abby McTeer, Lauren Baer, Zane Robertson, Elliott Prott, Garrett Marti, Connor Pinsker, Justin Melosi and Sean Snyder.
Senior representatives: Ariel Smock, Nicole Beaubien, Jenna Gnaedinger, Shane Yetter, Alisse Koishor, Lyndi Stone, Ally Becker, Hope Imming, Bailey Wills, Madison Wellen, Jack Landmann, Ethan Billhartz, Justin Gill, Chase Leitschuh, Bryan Abbe, Luke Jones, Ben Thomae and Trent Rakers.
Homecoming Coronation and Dance
The HHS Homecoming Coronation and Dance will be on Saturday, Sept. 24 in the HHS gym. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The coronation will be from 8 to 8:40 p.m., and the dance will be from 8:40 to 11:30 p.m.
HHS Homecoming Parade set for Sept. 28
The Highland High School Homecoming Parade will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28 and will begin at 6:30 p.m. The parade route will begin on Lindenthal at the elementary School and travel west on Lindenthal, then turn north on Washington Street, crossing Broadway and continue around the Square, ending at Laurel. Immediately following the parade, there will be a pep rally at the Square.
Homecoming Football Game
A pep assembly will be held in the HHS gym from 1:50 to 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 before the homecoming game that night against Civic Memorial.
Kickoff for the game is 7 p.m.
At 6:25 p.m., Highland Illinois Area Schools Alumni Association (HIASAA) will hold its Hall of Fame inductees introduction.
At half-time, the Homecoming Court will also be introduced.
Hall of Fame induction breakfast
The breakfast for the Highland Illinois Area Schools Alumni Association induction ceremony will be the weekend of the Highland High School Homecoming, Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Highland High School Bulldog Square at 9 a.m. Tickets for the breakfast are $8 and can be obtained by contacting Homer Rusteberg at 722 Broadway in Highland or calling 654-7537.
