The Highland-Pierron Fire Department invites the public to its fifth annual sausage and pancake breakfast, which is held in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week.
The breakfast will be served on Sunday, Oct. 9 from 8 a.m. to noon, complete with attendance prizes, fire prevention information, trips through the HPFD Fire Prevention Trailer, fire extinguisher training, and a chance to view the equipment and facility.
At 11 a.m., there will be a live-burn demonstration entitled, “Close the Door!” Firefighters will demonstrate how closing doors within your home can significantly change fire behavior and aggression.
Cost of the breakfast is $8 for adults. Kids under 5 eat free.
