The Highland Lions Club will be out in the community over the weekend conducting its annual Candy Day campaign.
The Lions will be giving out rolls of Lions Mints. All donations are used to help the visually and hearing impaired.
Through the Candy Day funds collected in 2015, the Highland Lions Club was able to provide financial support of more than $2,500 for approximately 12 individuals over the last year who had vision or hearing impairments. The club provided free or discounted tests, as well as free or discounted glasses or hearing aids.
The club also sponsored four grade school students with hearing loss to attend Camp Lions, a week-long camp near Benton, Ill.
