Highland High School could receive $5,000 — all that’s needed is your vote online.
The school is a finalist in the The Metro-East Got Spirit Video Contest. Highland is up against 25 other area schools. The video for Highland schools was a production of the Highland High School Technology Club. The volunteer sponsors for the club are Josh Case and Chris Durbin. The Tech Club has students involved in video broadcasting, robotics, trebuchet competitions and a girls-only team called “GEMS” (Girls Engineering Math and Science).
The contest is part of the Get to Know m.e., also known as Get to Know the Metro-East, regional image campaign, which was launched to help everyone in the Metro-East get to know their communities better, embracing the people who live and work here while enjoying the many attractions that we all share and enjoy. To support this campaign, various businesses have teamed together to organize and fund a comprehensive, positive-image marketing campaign for the Metro-East and fund visible projects to help make the community even stronger.
Voting in the video contest will close on Friday, Nov. 18 at midnight. Only one vote per person is allowed. Vote at get2knowthemetroeast.com/projects/gotspirit.
