Highland business women’s club to learn about recycling

Highland IFBW will meet Monday, Nov. 14 at Cabinet Gallery 205 Madison St. in Highland. Networking begins at 6 p.m., with dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by the program at 7 p.m. The meeting is being hosted by the Finance Committee and will focus on recycling since Nov. 15 is “America Recycles Day,” a day to raise awareness of the importance of recycling and buying recycled products.

Luke Harris of Highland Recycling & Shredding will be the guest speaker. Harris will share information on services his company offers and focus on confidential shredding. Some of the topics to be covered will be: what to look for in hiring a shredding company, the difference between a certified and non-certified provider, where the paper goes after it is shredded, and compliance with HIPPA and other laws relevant to businesses who collect credit card information. This promises to be a very informational program. Members are encouraged to bring a guest and/or prospective members.

Dinner will be catered by Urban Farmhouse & Pie Co. and will include roasted turkey breast, mashed potatoes, green beans, salad, bread, and cookies. Cost of the meal is $13.

Highland IFBW is an organization of “women helping women” and meets the second Monday of each month at various venues. All working women are welcome and invited to attend. For dinner reservations, call Margaret Bennett at 654-4168 by Friday, Nov. 11.
