The women of Highland First Baptist Church, Highland Southern Baptist Church, and Faith Baptist Church are inviting all ladies and girls in the Highland area to a special “Baptist Women’s World Day of Prayer” service at Highland First Baptist Church, 2709 Poplar St., on Thursday evening, Nov. 17.
The focus of the service will be on families, specifically the issues which are affecting families today and are in need of prayers. The guest speaker, C. J. Plog, clinical director of the Ease Program LLC, will be on hand to discuss marital issues, substance abuse, mental and physical ailments, employment and other financial issues, among other problems, and to offer suggestions and resources where women can turn to for help. In addition, participants will be offering prayers in each of these areas, and more.
The evening will begin with dinner, starting at 6 p.m, offered free of charge by the ladies of the three combined sponsoring churches. The prayer service will immediately follow, starting at approximately 6:45 p.m.
If you wish to attend, call the First Baptist Church at 654-4145, so that organizers will know how many places to set for dinner.
