Highland, Alhambra, Troy will have fireworks for Independence Day

The city of Highland will host its annual fireworks display on Tuesday, July 4 at Glik Park.

Bring your blanket and lawn chairs to enjoy an evening of family fun at the park from 4 to 9 p.m. Entertainment will include music, inflatables for children, and fireworks. Food and drinks will be available to purchase.

Coolers will not be permitted in the park.

The Highland Jaycees will be selling alcoholic beverages at the event.

Other displays


The Albers Blast Off Parade and Fireworks will be on Monday, July 3 at Jaycee Park Pavilion on Park Avenue. The parade at begins at 6:30 p.m., and fireworks will be at dusk.


Alhambra’s firework display will be on Tuesday, July 4 at dusk at Alhambra Township Park on Illinois Route 140. There is no charge to get into the park, but donations are welcome. Girl Scouts will be selling brats, burgers, hot dogs popcorn and drinks. Livingston Park Association will be selling funnel cakes.


Enjoy the magnificent glow of the Alton Fireworks Spectacular at the Liberty Bank Alton Amphitheater on July 3. Sparks will fly at approximately 9:30 p.m. Enjoy the live entertainment of the Airforce Band of the Midwest. General admission is free to this event. There’s open seating on the lawn area. VIP tickets, $25, include entry to the amphitheater, assigned seating in the VIP area, reserved parking and access to the VIP tent on the side of the stage with private concession booth.


The Carlyle Lake Dam Jam and Fireworks will be from 1 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 1 at Carlyle Lake Dam West, 801 Lake Road. Live music starts at 1 p.m. and goes until the evening. Fireworks are scheduled around 9 p.m.

Granite City

The “Patriots in the Park” Fourth of July celebration is one of the best in the St. Louis area. This weekend-long event at Wilson Park, 2900 Benton St., includes an auto show, carnival with food, live entertainment, rides and ends with a spectacular fireworks display. A carnival runs June 29 to July 4. Fireworks are free; other events and activities may include a fee. The fireworks are set for 9:15 p.m. on July 4 at Coolidge Middle School, 3231 Nameoki Road.


A fireworks finale will be held over downtown Greenville at 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 2 to conclude the two days of celebration for the Bond County Bicentennial.


Litchfield Independence Day Fireworks will be at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4 at Lake Lou Yaeger, Marina 1, 4313 Beach House Trail. There will be live music from 6:30 to 9:20 p.m.


Mascoutah’s Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration will be from 4 to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4 at Scheve Park. The celebration features food, crafts, rides, drinks. Fireworks will be at 9:30 p.m.
