Highland area club meetings for the week of May 7

Silver Creek DAR

The Silver Creek Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, May 9 at 10 a.m. in the Latzer Library Auditorium. New chapter officers will be installed and a memorial service will be held. Lola DeGroff will present a program on the Navajo Code Talkers. Madison County Genealogical Society

The Madison County Genealogical Society will meet at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 at the Old Six Mile Museum, 3729 Maryville Road in Granite City, for a tour of the museum. Guests are always welcome.

Highland Area Women’s Connection

The Highland Area Women’s Connection invites all ladies to experience the host from the “Pocket Full of Sunshine” radio show on Tuesday, May 12 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Urban Farmhouse Eatery and Pie House (formerly Farmers Restaurant & Bakery),15 Central Blvd. in Highland.

Featured speaker Treena Wicoff, a Nashville recording artist and song writer, will entertain with a light-hearted musical drama entitled, How Life Just Happens Sometimes.

No membership is required. All women are welcome. Off-site, complimentary child care for infants and preschoolers is available with advance notice. Reservations are required for the brunch and childcare. For reservations, call Sharon at (618) 920-0008 or email highlandwomensconnection@gmail.com.

Cost for this event is $11 per person, which includes the program and brunch buffet, and is payable at the door.
