Quarter auction to benefit Relay for Life Survivor Dinner
A multi-vendor quarter auction will be held Thursday, May 21 at the Weinheimer Community Center, 1100 Main St. in Highland, to benefit the Highland Relay for Life Survivor Dinner.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for vendor shopping, with the quarter auction beginning at 7 p.m. The cost is $5 per bid paddle (you will need quarters to bid) or $20 for an “all-in” paddle (which gets you in for all auction items).
In addition to shopping with vendors and the auction, there will be 50-50, Heads or Tails, and a silent/ticket raffle. Desserts, water, tea and lemonade will be available for purchase.

The Highland Relay for Life Survivor Dinner will be held just prior to Relay on Friday, July 10 for survivors and their caregivers.
Stewards of Hope “Yard Sale Extravaganza”
Stewards of Hope will host its third annual “Yard Sale Extravaganza” (formerly known as the Junk in Your Trunk Sale) at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Highland on Friday, June 5.
Register to sell your garage sale items by contacting Jennifer Whitten at (618) 363-5634 or jennifer.whitten@hotmail.com. For $25, sellers receive four large parking spaces and a $4 credit at the concession stand for the day. All your profits are yours to keep.
The event has had a great turnout in the past and sellers have been very happy with their results.
The sale runs from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 5.

Highland Jaycees Critter Crawl
The Highland Jaycees will host their third annual “Critter Crawl” pet parade on Saturday, June 6 to benefit the Highland Animal Shelter.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Lindendale Park with the parade beginning at 10 a.m.. The cost is $15 for early registration, which will include a goody bag and T-shirt. eEarly registration ends May 25. Registration day of is $20, which includes a goody bag but no T-shirt is guaranteed.
Following the parade, entertainment will include a costume contest, pony rides, a photo booth, vendors, and more.
