Farm Heritage Days are this weekend
The American Farm Heritage Museum in Greenville will hold its annual Heritage Days July 27-29.
Hours are 8 a.m. until dark on Friday and Saturday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
Daily highlights include tractor pulls, field demonstrations, antique fire truck display, gas engine display, live music, a grand-scale railroad, food, vendors, activitiesa , steam engine, a sawmill, threshing, the Lil’ Red Barn Museum, and pedal pulls.
Cost is $7 per person, $10 for an arm band for admission all three days (includes tractor pull). Children under 10 get in free. There’s also free parking.
The American Farm Heritage Museum is located at 1395 Museum Ave. in Greenville, take exit 45 off of Interstate 70.
AG Day at the Park is Aug. 3 & 4
The Alhambra Fire Department is hosting an AG Day at the Township Park in Alhambra on Friday, Aug. 3 and Saturday, Aug. 4.
The event will begin with a tractors and farm equipment on display on Friday beginning at noon and all day Saturday. Saturday’s event include a car show that starts with registration from 8 a.m. until noon, judging will be from noon to 3:30 p.m., and awards will be given at 4 p.m. There will be 11 classes for judging.
Craft shows, quilters, and pickers will also be on the grounds. There is still time to rent a space to show off your wares.
The firefighters will be selling fish, chicken strips, French fries, pork burgers, brats and hot dogs. Soda and water will be available.
The Community Club will sell desserts, and the Boy Scouts will have funnel cakes.
Village now accepting online payments
The village of Alhambra is now accepting online payments. To pay with a credit/debit card, 24/7, go to villageofalhambra.com and then click the payment option. For further information, contact the Village Clerk at 488-3505 or go to the Village Hall at 602 W. Main.
Clerk seeks residents’ phone numbers
The Alhambra village clerk is asking all residents to see that the village office has a current phone number for each household. In the event of a water or gas leak, it may be necessary to contact someone immediately. Phone numbers will not be shared with anyone and will be used only to disseminate necessary information back to residents.
St. Elizabeth’s chicken dinner is Sunday
St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church, 120 N. Windmill St. in Marine, will have its annual picnic on Sunday, July 19.
The picnic includes a family-style chicken dinner with homemade dressing and desserts. Dinner service starts at 11 a.m., and dinner tickets will be sold until 5:30 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-10, and children 5 and under eat free. Carry-outs will be available.
There will also be refreshments, a country store, basket stand, raffle, attendance prizes, and bingo will be played from 12:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The picnic will be held rain or shine.
