School News

This years enrollment is larger than previous years. Alhambra Primary has a total of 166 students enrolled with an added 5 pre-K students enrolling soon that will bring enrollment of Pre K-3 grade to 171 students. The first full week of classes, students in grades 1-3 will be doing STAR Testing (Standardized Testing and Reporting).

Box Tops for Education

The Box Tops for Education fund raiser will begin the first of the fund raisers. This one is easy as all that need to be done is to buy items most would buy anyway and cut out the small Box Top labels and save them for the school. Each label is worth 10 cents and this can add up quickly if parents, grandparents and friends remember to save the Box Tops. Look for special displays at the store and some have extra box tops.

Mobile Flu shots will be available to any senior citizens or disabled persons. Anyone with difficulty getting around may just drive up to the Firemen’s Hall and a nurse will come out to the parking lot to administer the vaccination.

To register for your free flu shot, call Freddie at 618-488-7603 or pick up a vaccination form in advance at AG Telephone Co. or National Bank. If needing Mobile Services let Freddie know at time of registration.
