▪ Highland Illinois Area Schools Alumni Association Nominations — Through Friday, Jan. 31. Nominees wanted for the 2020 Hall of Fame. Persons nominated must have either attended any school in the Highland School District boundaries or been employed by any of the schools, must have demonstrated a high level of achievement in any of the categories and made a significant contribution to that particular field, and must have exhibited leadership, character and service. ▪ Kaskaskia College Youth Baseball Camps — Pitching camp, 9-10:30 a.m.; hitting camp 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For players in grades 5-8. Conducted by KC coaches and players along with former players who have been drafted into professional baseball. Cost to attend one camp is $35. Campers can register for both camps fro $60. A lunch of pizza, drink and chips served between sessions. Space is limited to 30 in each camp. Participants must register and pay in advance. ▪ 17th annual I-70 Baseball Coaches Clinic — 5-8:30 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. to 2:15 p.m. Monday. Greenville High School Auditorium, 1000 E. Illinois 140, Greenville. Featuring speakers legendary MLB Manager Buck Showalter and Houston Astros pitching coach Brent Strom, along with Tanner Swanson (New York Yankees), Darren Fenster (Boston Red Sox) and Bill Mosiello (Texas Christian University).
