Highland-Pierron Fire Department celebrates 2019 at annual winter party
The members and guests of the Highland-Pierron Fire Department celebrated a successful 2019 during their annual winter party on Feb. 29 at the Highland Country Club.
The theme was “Pajama Party.”
Many firefighters were recognized throughout the night. Those receiving service awards were Jason Corey, Thomas Fulton, Jayme Haas, and Tracy Haas all for five years of service; Shawn Hogg and Jerod Kampwerth for 10 years of service; and Jeff Johnson for 20 years.
Three members who retired in 2019 were recognized, including firefighter Frank Nation, Assistant Chief Dennis Wernle, and Chief Steve Plocher. The Gold Star Award, given to a member who has bettered the organization by going “above and beyond,” was awarded to Captain Jeff Johnson.
The annual Supporter of the Year award was presented to ADR Auto Repair and Towing in recognition of their support every time the department has needed vehicles for training and public relation events.
Additionally, recently retired telecommunicator Greg Stoff was recognized for his years of service as a 911 dispatcher with specific thanks for his efforts in supporting Highland-Pierron Fire Department on emergencies in his role as a telecommunicator.
