Wednesday, Sept. 9

Pond Stocking Fish Sale Orders — The Madison County Soil and Water Conservation District is taking orders for their pond fish sale. This sale is for those pond owners that have an established fish population and need to supplement some species, or to stock new fishpond. The species available are channel catfish, redear, bluegill, largemouth bass, fathead minnows, and triploid grass carp. Friday, Sept. 18, is the deadline to order and pay for grass carp. Deadline to order all other fish is Sept. 24. Pick-up date and location: 8-9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, Edwardsville Moose Lodge parking lot, 7371 Marine Road, Edwardsville. Second annual Veterans’ Recognition Banners Registration — Deadline Monday, Sept. 21. The city of Edwardsville is inviting residents to assist in recognizing and honoring area veterans and active military through banner sponsorship. Those who sponsored a veteran last year will once again see those banners displayed on lampposts in addition to new banners that are obtained through sponsorship this year. The banners currently placed on the lampposts on Main St. and surrounding streets will be replaced with banners honoring these special men and women.
