HSHS St. Joseph-Breese to host KidneyMobile July 16 at Breese KC

Free health screenings will be available when the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois’ KidneyMobile visits the Breese Knights of Columbus Hall between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Thursday, July 16.

The visit is sponsored by HSHS St. Joseph’s in Breese and supported by Illinois Rep. Charlie Meier (R-Okawville). This is the only time the KidneyMobile will be in Clinton County this year.

Attendance is limited and pre-registration strongly recommended as the unit may leave early if no one else is scheduled.

Screenings, limited to those 18 years old and over, will include blood draw to check for creatinine and kidney function, blood pressure, blood glucose, Body Mass Index, waist circumference and urinalysis. Fasting is not required.

Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the results with a NKFI nurse practitioner and will receive a printed copy for his or her healthcare provider. A Hispanic interpreter will be available.

For a KidneyMobile appointment (strongly recommended), contact the hospital Specialty Clinic at 526-8585. For more information on CKD or the NKFI, call 312-321-1500, e-mailkidney@nkfi.org or visit www.nkfi.org.
