▪ Heartland Community Chorus Auditions — By appointment through Friday, Sept. 9. Singers over the age of 16 welcome. Singers needed in each section. Sing a hymn, art song, patriotic song, or Broadway song. Please bring two copies of the music, or one, if you have your piece memorized. You will also be asked to sing some 5-note scales and match some pitch patterns. We will have copies of a few songs at the audition for your use (“Amazing Grace”, “America”). ▪ Highland Garden Club Member Appreciation and New Member Drive — 6 p.m. 2466 Becker Road, Highland. Light refreshments will be served and 2023 dues collected ($10). The meeting will be held at the home of Ceil Kloss. Those who wish to carpool should meet at Glik Park parking lot near the footbridge, no later than 5:40 p.m. Bring a folding chair. New members are encouraged to attend.
▪ Highland Thursday Night Live Concert Series: Michael Nitro — 7 p.m. Downtown Square, Highland. Enjoy live entertainment on Thursday evenings. ▪ HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital Highland Auxiliary Book Donation Drive — Used book donations are currently being accepted. Donations can be delivered to St. Joseph’s Hospital Gift Shop 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday-Friday. Accepting nice, clean books of fiction, nonfiction, children’s and cookbooks, hardbacks and paperbacks, puzzles, CDs, DVDs. The Auxiliary requests no self-care, religious or DIY books, encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc. Masks (non-cloth) must be worn in the hospital at all times.
