St. Gertrude Catholic Church

St. Gertrude will observe Ash Wednesday at 5 p.m. Feb. 22. Mass will include Communion and ashes. The Lenten Penance Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 1.

Grantfork Elementary

• The Illinois State Board of Education is offering the parents an opportunity to rate their children’s school. This may be kept anonymous or may be signed. The website will only be up for a short period of time, so should people be interested in giving feedback, it must be done soon. • Students had a fun time with a rousing volleyball tournament between the classes with the winners taking on the teachers. The teachers won the finals but the students said they will beat them next time.
• Monday, March 6, through Friday, March 17, will be the week for skating in ^.P.E.
