Sign up now to be a ‘VIP’ at Highland’s Art in the Park
You can sign up now to be one of the first Art in the Park VIPs to celebrate the festival’s 12th anniversary.
The Highland Arts Council will host a Preview Party the day before its annual Art in the Park on Friday, Oct. 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lindendale Park in Highland. Attendees get a sneak peek at world-class art and use pre-pledged “Art Bucks” to purchase art before the fair opens to the general public.
The 12th Annual Art in the Park is a two-day juried exhibit and sale of works by nearly 70 professional artists.
At the Preview Party, art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to view artwork from the event the night before opening to the general public. Attendees will also get a sneak peek of a proposed Treehouse Gallery in Highland, which will be an interactive addition to the park for families to enjoy the scenic view.
The Preview Party features live entertainment, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine and the opportunity for personal conversations with the featured artists. Guests can use their pre-pledged dollars to spend any time during the show, Friday through Sunday.
“We want to celebrate all people who love and support the arts,” said Lynnette Schuepbach, the event chairperson and one of the directors of the Highland Arts Council, the producer of Art in the Park. “This is a great opportunity for guests to mingle with their favorite artists and fellow art enthusiasts.”
Individuals must pledge a minimum of $100 to spend at Art in the Park, which allows two people to attend the Preview Party.
To pledge for the event, call Schuepbach at (618) 558-0054 or mail pledges to Highland Arts Council, 907 Main, Highland, IL 62249.
Upon receiving pledges, Art in the Park will send Preview Party invitations. “Art Bucks” in the amount of pre-pledged dollars may be picked up at the Preview Party or at any time during the event.
