Little Homesteaders Small Business Fair
Kids run their own vendor stands. Open to children ages 5-17. Have an idea for a small business? Now is the time to put the idea to good use. Any idea is welcome, such as selling handmade goods, garden produce, starting seedlings, either vegetable or flowers, networking babysitting, lawn mowing, or house washing, etc.
The Small Business Fair will be Saturday, May 13, at the Alhambra Township Park, Illinois 140 in the Firemen Legion Building. For information, contact Ashley at LHbusinessfair@gmail.com.
St. Gertrude Catholic Church
St. Gertrude Church will host their annual chicken dinner Sunday, June 4. This year’s event will be “carry out” with a limited amount of dine-in seating available. They plan to bring back their menu with dressing and coleslaw. Tea and water will be beverage choices. No dessert will be offered. A donation of $13 per dinner with a plan to serve 1,000 dinners. The event will not feature raffle tickets or a country store this year.
Grantfork UCC
- Grantfork UCC will observe Holy Humor Sunday on April 16 this year. Bring family friendly jokes to share.
- Church council meeting will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 18.
Men’s Fellowship annual fish fry will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at Gary Kreutzberg’s farm.
