Village Yard Sales April 27-29
Village wide yard sales will be held Thursday, April 27 from 3-7 p.m.; Friday, April 28 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, April 29 from 8 a.m. to noon.
To have your addresses and small description of items for sale put on the map, email information to: fbcoffice@gmail.com or text/call Cathy Adolph 618-401-5911. Maps will be available April 26 after 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 209 W. Main, Alhambra.
Big Trash Pickup
Big trash pick up is scheduled for Thursday, May 4. Items that will NOT be picked up include: tires, yard waste, batteries, concrete, TVs or electronics. To dispose of these items, call CJD E-Cycling 618-659-9006 to make an appointment to drop items off for recycling. There may be a charge for TVs.
Salem Church Rummage Sale
Salem Church, 1117 W. North St., will have a Rummage Sale during the Village Yard Sales on April 27, 28 and 29. “Fill a Bag for $5” is the theme of the sale. Food will be available for purchase including brats, hotdogs, chips, soda, water and bake sale items. Restrooms on site. Proceeds will go toward Salem’s future Ecuador mission trips.
Items for donation may be brought to Parish Hall after April 17. Not accepting furniture.
Tax exemptions and where to get the forms
Forms for all tax exemptions may be found online by going to https://www.madisoncountyil.gov/, then “Departments” and “Chief County Assessment Office.” Click: “Available Exemptions.”
Senior Citizens Homestead Exemption:
Form (PTAX-324) – This exemption is a $5,000 reduction in the entity-attribute-value model (EAV) of the property granted the residential property that is occupied is the principal residence of a person, who is 65 years of age or older during the assessment year and the person must be the owner; or have an equitable interest in the property with a single-family residence; and be liable for the payment of the property taxes. The exemption needs to be applied for every year.

Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption:
(When applying for this exemption, please also apply for the senior citizens homestead exemption PTAX-324 above.)
Form 2023 (PTAX-340) – This exemption allows senior citizens who have a total household maximum income of less than $65,000 and meet certain other qualifications to elect to maintain the EAV of their homes at the base year EAV and prevent any increase in that value due to inflation. The amount is determined on (1) the property’s EAV minus the frozen base year value (the property’s prior year’s EAV for which the applicant first qualifies for the exemption), and (2) the applicant’s total household maximum income limitation. The exemption needs to be applied for every year by July 31.

Alhambra Homecoming
Alhambra Jaycees are bringing back the Homecoming and combining it with their AG Day celebration Aug. 4-5.
Alhambra Primary
April 28 will be Kindergarten visitation. This is for children entering kindergarten for the year 2023-2024. There will be no school for current kindergarten or pre-K classes on this date.
Domino’s Night will be May 2, help the PTO and enjoy a night without cooking.
