Grantfork news, May 3 edition

Grantfork Elementary

The Grantfork Elementary Mini-Marathon Walk will wrap up this week. There were 48 students that completed the walk and they will be rewarded with a T-shirt and the fun of attending the Tryathalon for Alhambra grade school students on May 5 at Alhambra Park.

Highland Middle School students will be visiting with the fifth-grade students at Grantfork to help them prepare for their move to the middle school in Highland next school year.

St. Gertrude’s Catholic Church

Parish members are asked to come help clean on May 10. Please bring a bucket and rags. This is to prepare for the annual Chicken Dinner on June 4.

St. Gertrude’s parish will be honoring our high school and college graduates at a special Mass Sunday, May 21 at 8 a.m. There will be a breakfast following worship for the graduates and the parish. This is sponsored by the CFL Council #60.

Parents are asked to call or email the church office with the graduate’s name, name of school and town where the school is located. Please get information to the office by Friday, May 12.

St. Gertrude Church will be hosting their annual Chicken Dinner Sunday, June 4. This year’s event will be carryout with a limited amount of dine-in seating available. They plan to bring back their menu with dressing and coleslaw. Tea and water will be beverage choices. No dessert will be offered. A donation of $13 per dinner with a plan to serve 1,000 dinners. There will be no raffle tickets and no country store this year.

Grantfork United Church of Christ

Men’s Fellowship annual fish fry will be held Thursday, May 4 at 6 p.m. at Gary Kreutzberg’s farm.

Church council meeting will be held on Wednesday,May 24, at 7 p.m.
