The Grantfork United Church Of Christ council will not meet during the month of July. The next council meeting will be held Tuesday, Aug. 15.

HACSM Seeking Donations of School Supplies

Highland Area Christian Service Ministry is trying to fulfill the needs of area children by collecting school supplies or monetary donations where needed. Supplies needed are:

Sharpies, loose glue sticks, plastic pencil boxes, highlighters (all colors), erasers, inexpensive earbuds, TI-80 XA calculators, Composition Notebooks, Bic pens, (blue, black, red), Crayola crayons (8 count), washable markers (10 pk), dry erase markers large point, Fiskars scissors (blunt end point), Crayola watercolor sets (8 pan), plastic folders regular and three-prong (all colors), high school-size backpacks in neutral colors, Post-It Notes, glue bottles, Ticonderoga pencils, polymer (white).

Items may be brought to the food pantry at 900 Chestnut St., Highland. For more info please call 618-654-9295.

Name-brand items are at the request of the teachers.

GUCC and the Lunch Warriors

As of June 13, 2023, the Lunch Bunch has distributed 1,917 lunches. This figures out to 191 lunches per day, which is a 10-per-day increase from last year.

The UCC United For Others members held a fundraiser at IMO’s Pizza to help fund the lunch program.
