Children ages 3-5 are encouraged to get screened. This screening will help to determine if a child would benefit from early childhood classes.

Parents that have their children screened are under no obligation to sign the child up for school.

If interested in having a child screened, call the Highland Primary office to schedule an appointment.

Scheduling times and dates are as follows:

  • 9 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 22;

  • 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Oct. 18.

4-H Ice Cream Social

The Morning Glories and Cloverbuds 4-H leaders and current members invite all young people ages 5-18 and their parents to attend an ice cream social Monday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m. at the Alhambra Township Park.

Come hear of all the activities club members enjoy and how much they learn from each other’s activities.

Are you interested in computers, flowers, photography, calligraphy, animals and many other programs available through 4-H? Come join the fun with no obligation to join.

See everything available to those who would enjoy a hobby and make new friends.

Morning Glories are for ages 8-18 and Cloverbuds are ages 5-7. Both groups meet at the same time.

Hitz Home Residents Celebrate

The residents at Hitz Memorial Home enjoyed National Nonprofit Day, commemorated on Aug. 17, with good music and sweet treats.

Alhambra Community Club Melon Sales

Club members are always gratified by the community’s support of their watermelon and cantaloup sales.

The profits from these sales go towards yearly scholarships and many of the other community projects that the club undertakes.

New members are always welcome, and it is a wonderful way to get to know other residents of the town.

Meetings are held on the first Monday of the month at 6:30 p.m. at the Township Center and only last about an hour.
