Grantfork UCC Sausage Supper
This year’s annual sausage supper was blessed with exceptionally beautiful weather for this time of year, which contributed to the wonderful turnout.
A total of 1,425 dinners were sold compared with 1,168 last year.
This is due to all the wonderful people that participated as cooks, servers, clean-up, ticket sales, traffic control and all those that bought tickets. Thank you to all!
Water Bills Missing
Many residents of Alhambra and Grantfork are wondering what happened to their monthly water bill.
Apparently there was a problem at the St. Louis Distribution Center.
It has been suggested that you call your village hall and ask how much your bill is and pay it without the statement.
Alhambra residents have been informed that there would be no late fees for the month of October.
Wreaths Across America
To remember and honor our vets who are no longer with us, consider placing a wreath on the grave of a local veteran.
This year wreaths will be placed on the graves at the Grantfork UCC Cemetery. The ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16.
The cost of a wreath is $17.
To purchase a wreath, call Wendy Reinacher-Heilig at 618-675-3472 or 618-444-2520.
Highland Food Pantry
Grantfork UCC parish members are asked to donate rice, pasta and potato side dishes.
The pantry needs 50 of each item in order to place them on the shelves.
If each family purchases a couple side dishes each time they buy groceries, the cost will not be so noticeable and the supplies at the pantry will be replenished.
St. Gertrude Catholic Church
There will be a Penance Service at St. Gertrude’s on Wednesday, Nov. 29, at 6:30 p.m.
