Take Family Train Display
Wednesday, Dec. 27 will be the last chance to see this impressive train display.
Open to the public is an array of electric train sets on display at the Village Hall at 602 W. Main St.
If you enjoy trains, this is a must-see display belonging to the Take family and donated for display during the holiday season.
The display is open on Wednesday, Dec. 27, 5-8 p.m.
This is a free event, but any donations will go towards the Alhambra Community Fire Department.
Jubilee 175th Committee New Years Eve Dance Canceled
This event has been canceled due to lack of interest. Tickets sold will be refunded.
Mouse Races are scheduled to take place at the Firemen Legion Hall on March 16.
More information will be available closer to the event.
Christmas Tree Disposal
Residents may take their Christmas trees to the village shed at 421 Elm St. for disposal by the village. This is ONLY for the disposal of what was once a live tree.
All lights, garland and ornaments must be removed before putting the tree out for recycling.
Community Club
Alhambra Community Club will have its next meeting Monday, Feb. 5, at the Township Center, 101 E. Main St. at 6:30 p.m.
Yearly dues of $5 will be collected at this meeting, and new officers will be elected.
The Community Club meets on the first Monday of the month.
Fundraisers for the year include the sale of watermelons and cantaloupe during season and selling quilt tickets for a handmade quilt each year.
Community service includes financial aid for Alhambra teachers by purchasing items they need and would have to pay for out of pocket.
Donate candy at Halloween, donate to the activity funds for nursing homes, and buy each nursing home a ham for Christmas, turkey for Thanksgiving and donate cash to First Baptist and Salem churches with food baskets during holidays.
A $500 scholarship is awarded yearly to a local senior by the club.
New members are always welcome. The club invites anyone interested to attend the meeting in February. You are not under any obligation to join and will not be harassed.

Food Pantry Needs
Highland Food Pantry is asking for canned tuna, cereal, toilet paper, bar soap and disposable razors.
Hamel Food Pantry is in need of canned goods of carrots, potatoes, diced tomatoes, soup, fruit cocktail, cereal, pancake mix, syrup, jelly, coffee, pasta sauce, Hamburger Helper, Ramen Noodles, mayonnaise, cooking oil,toothpaste/toothbrush, shampoo, dish/laundry detergent, toilet paper, bars of soap, empty egg cartons and plastic bags.
Township Meeting Dates 2024
Alhambra Township monthly meetings will be held at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at 101 E. Main St., Alhambra.
Dates for the 2024 year are Jan.9, Feb. 13, Mar. 12, Apr. 9 (annual meeting followed by regular monthly meeting), May 14, June 11, July 9, Aug. 13, Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10.
