Breese District 12 names interim superintendent
Breese School District 12 students and staff will see a new but familiar face in the superintendent’s seat when school starts Aug. 18.
Mike Toeben, who has served as superintendent for two years, has moved on to Albers, said Jenny Santel, bookkeeper for District 12.
In his place will be John Mullett, who was superintendent at Breese for four years before moving on to Litchfield and retiring.
Because of his retirement status, Mullett can work only 100 days of the 176-day school year, Santel said.
“As soon as he shows up, it’s considered a day,” Santel said.
There are about 600 students in the two-school district. Santel said a job posting for the superintendent position has not yet been distributed.
