Jaycees seek input on having another Movie in the Park

The Alhambra Jaycees once again provided a fabulous entertainment for the village. They work so hard on the homecoming and then provide the community with an absolute phenomenal firework display and last but not least their free Movie in the Park. Attendance was great and everyone loved the movie Big Hero 6. Now the question is: Should they have another movie night? Voice your opinion by going to the Alhambra Jaycees’ Facebook page.

Woodstock revisited at Alhambra Care

Residents of Alhambra Care Center had a great time getting their groove on as they relived the glory years of the ’60s and ’70s.

Decked out in beads and sunglasses, headbands and dew rags, peace symbols and a love of life was the spirit of the day. Mark Phelps played the tunes of the era and everyone mellowed out as they enjoyed the music, camaraderie, and delicious refreshments.

Village seeks flag donations

Several years ago, the village had a flag drive to ensure that on special days the flags would be out for all to see and as a reminder of all we have to love about our country. Supplies are getting low again and it is time to replenish the flags. Anyone wishing to donate a new 3 by 5 foot flag may buy one at and donate it. Cost is under $10.

Donations may also be made in honor of or in memory of a past or present service man/woman, or any loved one. Drop flags off at Village Hall or 301 Coral (Freddie Riepshoff’s house). Checks or cash maybe left with Village Clerk or with Riepshoff, and the flags will be purchased.

A list of donors and honorees will be published at a later date.
