Highland area police briefs for July 27-Aug. 2

HPD felony warrant arrests
▪ Joseph L. Daniels, 32, of Highland was arrested on July 29 on a felony warrant for failure to appear for trail on a heroin possession charge. He was denied bond.
▪ Angel K. Roles, 26, of Marine was arrested on Aug. 1 on a felony fugitive from justice charge. Roles was wanted in St. Louis County, Mo., for failure to appear in court on a possession of heroin charge.
HPD misdemeanor warrant arrests
▪ Megan E. Zeller, 24, of Highland was arrested on Aug. 1 on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a disorderly conduct charge.
▪ James A. McNeill, 25, of Highland was arrested on Aug. 2 on two warrants. He was wanted for failure to appear in court on charges of having an expired vehicle registration and possession of cannabis.
HPD misdemeanor citations, tickets
July 27
▪ Trudy A. Bacon, 60, of St. Jacob was charged with animal cruelty. Police allege Bacon had puppies locked in a hot car around 4:23 p.m. in the parking lot of the Northtown Plaza shopping center. The high temperature in Highland that day was 87 degrees.
▪ Natasha A. Cangas, 31, of Columbia, Ill., was charged with driving while having a suspended/revoked license, operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, having a suspended/revoked vehicle registration and improper use of registration.
July 28
▪ A juvenile, 17, of Collinsville was charged with driving without a valid license.
July 29-30
▪ No tickets issued.
July 31
▪ Gabrielle R. Thuenemann, 26, of Glen Carbon was charged with a traffic signal violation.
Aug. 1
▪ Janey L. Miller, 50, of Highland was charged with failure to signal for a turn and operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.
▪ Derek J. Riefle, 21, of Dupo was charged with operation of an uninsured motor vehicle.
Aug. 2
▪ No tickets issued.
