HSHS St. Joseph-Breese Women/Infants to host classes at Breese, Highland

The Women and Infants Center at HSHS St. Joseph’s in Breese will offer childbirth-related classes at Breese and Highland hospitals this fall.

Leading off the late-summer/early fall schedule is a Sibling class, for children 3 to 10 years old expecting a new brother or sister within the next two months, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, followed by Know Your Newborn at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, in the HSHS St. Joseph-Breese Heritage Room. Know Your Newborn will also be offered at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, in the Ungacta Conference Center at HSHS St. Joseph’s in Highland.

Two Breastfeeding sessions are also on the calendar — a support group at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, and a class at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 3, in the Breese hospital Heritage Room. A Breastfeeding class will also be offered at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, in Highland hospital’s Ungacta Conference Center. Three childbirth sessions are also planned — a Prepared Childbirth Refresher at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, and a one-day Prepared Childbirth class at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, in the Heritage Room at Breese, and a three-week Prepared Childbirth course at 7 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 15, Sept. 22 and Sept. 29, in the Ungacta Conference Center at Highland.

Offered with Community Link’s First Step Program, with funding by the United Way of Greater St. Louis, will be Happiest Toddler, from 1 to 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10, and Happiest Baby, from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at the hospital HealthPlex. Daycare staff, babysitters, grandparents or anyone caring for these age groups are welcome.
