Highland Garden Club to host Member Appreciation Night and New Member Drive
The Highland Garden Club will host its annual “Member Appreciation Night and New Member Drive” Thursday, Aug. 27 at Mills Apple Orchards, 11377 Pocahontas Road in rural Marine, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Chicken salad sandwiches, drinks and apple or peach pie will be served. Members and guests should bring a lawn chair. Those wanting to carpool to the meeting should meet in the Walmart parking lot near Huddle House at 5:30 p.m. All Garden Club members and anyone else interested in learning more about the club are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The Highland Garden Club meets monthly on the fourth Thursday of each month. The mission of the club is: “To plant the seeds of knowledge, cultivate friendships, grow in our appreciation of nature, harvest ideas, and preserve the beauty of our community.” Anyone interested in learning more about the Garden Club should call Kathy Moore, club president, at 654-3579.
