Highland Arts Council creates win-win opportunities
In order to meet its mission, Highland Arts Council offers several opportunities for win-win situations among the residence and surrounding communities.
Art of Soul
Art of Soul happens annually in late winter/early spring. For a minimal fee, budding artists can experience five projects and practice their own creativity. They win. HAC wins by meeting its mission. Watch for the upcoming series from Feb. 18 through March 17, 2016.
Art in the Park
Art in the Park, the 12th annual outdoor art exhibit, is the largest win-win. This year’s show will be Oct. 9-11 at Lindendale Park in Highland.
HAC again meets it mission. Artists are given an opportunity to exhibit and sell their art in 12 different categories. The community wins by experiencing great art while having an opportunity to purchase it. Kids win by being able to make their own art at the show and/or purchase donated art for a very minimal price.
Art in the Park Preview Party
The largest win at Art in the Park is the opportunity to become a VIP and attend the Preview Party on Friday, Oct. 9, prior to opening the show to the general public. Anyone can become a VIP. The Preview Party is the only place you can see the art before the general public and get your own money back to spend on art at the show. Your pre-pledge dollars allow you to attend the Preview Party on Oct. 9 from 6 to 9 p.m. and use that money to buy art.
You receive:
▪ The opportunity for you and a guest to view artwork from nearly 70 booths on Friday before opening to the general public.
▪ Complimentary delicious refreshments
▪ Live entertainment
▪ Intimate conversations with your favorite artists
▪ “Art Bucks” equaling your pre-pledge dollars to spend any time during the show, Friday through Sunday
All you need to do is pledge a minimum of $100 that you plan to spend at Art in the Park.
To take advantage of this unique opportunity, call (618) 558-0054 or mail your check to Highland Arts Council, 907 Main, Highland, IL 62249. Write “Preview Party” on the check.
After your pre-pledge dollars are received, your preview party invitation will be mailed to you. Art Bucks in the amount of your pre-pledge dollars may be picked up at the Preview Party or any time during the show.
You can also win, even if you lose, by purchasing one of our raffle tickets. If your name is drawn, you may choose up to $500 worth of art from the exhibiting artists. If your name is not drawn, you win by supporting the Highland Arts Council’s mission to bring arts to the community and surrounding areas. Tickets are $5 per ticket or five for $20. Raffle tickets will be available from any HAC member or call (618) 558-0054 for tickets.
