Grantfork UCC to buy AED

Grantfork United Church of Christ discussed purchasing an automatic electric defibrillator (AED) for the church. With a donation to cover the cost of most of it being made by a parishioner, it will soon become a fact.

Community Thanksgiving service

The Highland Area Ministerial Alliance will hold its annual community Thanksgiving Worship Service on Sunday, Nov. 22 at 6 p.m. This year’s worship service will be held at Highland Evangelical United Church of Christ. The minister has not been decided yet. The offering will go to the Highland Area Christian Service Ministry food pantry.

Deer meat can be donated to food pantries

For those who like to hunt, but do not want the deer meat, consider donating it to a food pantry. Grantfork Meats will process the meat for the for local pantries at no charge. Contact, Kirby Knackstedt at the meat market at 675-2155.

Highland Jaycees to host bocce ball, washers tournaments

Highland Jaycees will host a bocce ball tournament and a washers tournament at Grantfork Bowl on Saturday, Nov. 14.

The bocce tournament will start at noon and will cost $60 per team. There is a maximum of 16 teams. Cash prizes will be awarded for first and second place. Attendance prizes will also be give out.

The washers tournament will be impromptu.

Barbecue will be available, and the proceeds from the event will benefit the Highland VFW.
