578 served at New Douglas Fire Department breakfast
The New Douglas Fire Department would like to take this time to thank everyone who attended our fall 2015 breakfast. We continue to grow in the numbers of hungry people served and our sausage sales, we would never be able to do so without the your support.
We are thankful to have a wonderful group of firefighters, retired firefighters and their families that serve us all not only during our fundraisers but each and every day, hour and minute of the year.
A Huge Thank You to Ron Hemann, Suzy Eilers, Corey Hemann and Korte Meats for all of their hard work. Without them we would not have the incredible sausage that we all love so much. We also thank our advertisers, Jims IGA and Troy Frozen Foods for making sure we have all of our supplies, the New Douglas Community Center for the chairs and tables, the Lutheran church and the New Douglas Rec Plex for roasters, pitchers, high chairs and booster seats.
This year, we also had Highland-Pierron bring their Fire Prevention Demonstration Trailer to our breakfast. We were able to teach home safety, fire prevention and fire escape plans to kids and adults. We had approximately 80 people go through the trailer and everyone was able to learn something that will have a positive impact on the way the see fire safety.
Please join us this spring, on Sunday, March 20, for our next breakfast.
We have about 50 pounds of link sausage still available. If anyone is interested, contact us at newdouglasfire@gmail or (217) 456-6221.
