Betty F. Schneck, 86, of Greenville died on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2015 at her home.

Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 4 at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, with Brother Gary E. Pruitt, pastor of Elkville Christian Church in Elkville, Ill., officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery in Alhambra.

She was born on April 1, 1929 west of Alhambra to Charles and Dovie (Rasor) Pruitt. On April 12, 1947, she married Willard W. Schneck. He passed away on Nov. 26, 2005.

Mrs. Schneck grew up on the family farm. She attended Plant Country School, west of Greenville. She worked at a glove factory in Greenville and then Moulton-Bartley Shoe Factory in Highland.

She and her husband farmed east of Alhambra. They raised pigs and operated a grain farm. After her husband’s death, she moved to Greenville.

She enjoyed gardening. She was a fantastic cook and loved to entertain her brothers and sisters and their children. She and her husband loved to dance at Alhambra Firemen’s Hall.

Survivors include a niece, Karen File of Pocahontas; a brother, Clyde J. (Geraldine) Pruitt of Greenville; and a sister, Edna O. (Dale) Suever of Highland.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Herman H. Pruitt, who died on Sept. 7, 1989, Edmund Charles “Jack” Pruitt, Robert Pruitt and Clifford Pruitt; and sisters, Ada Carter, Sadie J. Mettler, who died on May 5, 2001, and Martha M. Mersinger.

Memorials may be made to Bond County Hospice.
