Assessor to help with property tax exemptions
Delmar Korsmeyer, Leef-New Douglas multi-township assessor, will be at the Leef Township Community Center on Tuesday, Jan. 19 from 3 to 6 p.m. to answer questions about tax exemptions and tax freezes.
Township residents age 65 and older, or who will turn 65 in 2016, can sign up for the Senior Citizen Homestead Exemption. Also, Korsmeyer will have forms for the Disabled Persons Homestead Exemption (PTAX 343), Returning Veterans Homestead Exemption (PTAX 341), and exemption forms for disabled veterans.

Tree Recycling
Christmas trees may be taken to the Leef Township lot north of Grantfork. Place the tree in the fenced in area to be recycled. For further information, contact Judy Zimmerman 675-3396.
Grantfork Elementary
Students will have their Spelling Bee beginning on Friday, Jan. 8 at 1:15p.m.Parents are welcome to attend.
Leef Township Meetings for 2016
Leef Township meetings will begin on Jan. 6 at 7 p.m. Other meeting dates for the year will be Feb. 3 at 7 p.m.; March 2 at 7 p.m.; April 12 with the regular meeting first and and at 8 p.m., the annual meeting; May 4 at 8 p.m.; June 1 at 8 p.m.; July 6 at 8 p.m.; Aug. 3 at 8 p.m.; Sept. 7 at 8 p.m.; Oct. 5 at 8 p.m.; Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.; and Dec.7, with Christmas dinner at 6 p.m., the and meeting following at 7 p.m.
