The New Douglas Fire Department responded to 68 calls last year.
“Our men and women of the New Douglas Fire Department continue to train, learn and prepare ourselves to safely respond to incidents in and around our community,” said fire chief Dan Robertson. “We would like to take this moment to thank all of our first responders and their families for their commitment to serving their community yesterday, today and tomorrow.”

“Remember, please call 911 in the event of an emergency and be prepared to tell the dispatcher your emergency and your correct address or location so that we can safely get to you,” Robertson said.
Robertson also reminded district residents that, if needed, firefighters will assist anyone in need of smoke alarms.
“We are also always accepting applications for the position of probationary firefighter,” Robertson said.
