Mater Dei to host ‘Knight at the Races’ fundraiser

The Mater Dei Music’s annual Knight at the Races fundraiser is being held Saturday, Jan. 23 in the Lampe Commons.

The night consists of betting pretend money on pre-recorded horse races that are projected on the wall in the commons. If your horse wins, you get tickets for a chance to win one of our three big prizes (Beats headphones with a pill speaker, 32-inch TV, or gift certificates to Popeye’s and Trenton House).

There will also be fun “mini-games” between races, the jazz band plays, and a penny raffle.

You can reserve tickets early for $35 a piece, which includes a program, funny money to bet with, lots of food (pulled pork nachos, candied pecans, sandwiches, desserts), and 10 drink tickets. You must be 21 and over. Reserve tickets from any band student or by calling the Mater Dei office at 526-07216. Tickets will be sold at the door for $40.
