Morning Glories 4-H Club
The Alhambra Morning Glories meet on the second Monday of each month at the Alhambra Township Building at 6:30 p.m.
The new officers for the year are president Zach P.; vice president Mackenzie M.; secretary Angie C.; treasurer Piper M.; reporter Olivia T.; historian, Cora H.; recreation, Jake E., Brianna P., Olivia T., Anna T.
The club has enjoyed such activities as painting pumpkins, playing “The Wright Family” game at the Annual Family Appreciation Night, wrapping gifts for an adopted family. Enjoyed a Taco Bar and played “Christmas from A to Z.” In February, the club members will be going to the Edison Entertainment Complex in Edwardsville as a winter activity.
Anyone from 8 to 18 years of age are invited to join the 4-H club. The next meeting will be held Monday, Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. For further information, contact Laurie Raymond 618-488-7255.
Community Club
The next meeting of the Alhambra Community Club will be on Monday, Jan. 25 at 5:30 at Maedge’s Restaurant. Dues of $5 for the year will be payable at this time.
The Community Club has welcomed many new members during the past year and would welcome anyone else that would like to join. This organization began back in the ’50s and is making a strong comeback with younger members and innovative ideas. Visitors are welcome to join a meeting with no obligations.
Tax Exemption Forms
Seniors who are 65 years of age, own and reside in their own home and have a total combined gross income of $55,000 or less are eligible for the Senior Citizens Assessment Freeze Homestead Exemption.
If you meet the above requirements and have not filed for the year 2015, contact Joe Dauderman at 488-7179 or Jerry Frank at 488-128 for the necessary forms.
This completed form will freeze the assessed value of your property for one year.
Sign up for state of Illinois License Plate Renewal Notice
The state of Illinois will no longer be sending out notices by mail when license plates stickers are to be renewed. If wishing to receive a reminder, sign up to get an email notice. To sign up go to www.cyberddriveillinois.com a current registration and PIN number are required. These items may be found on the registration paperwork that came with your current sticker. The state will assess a $20 late fee for late plate renewal.
Salem United Church of Christ
The 156th Annual Meeting will be held Jan. 31, following the 10 a.m. worship service.
Saturday, Jan. 30 is the date for the 68th annual Sausage Supper. Serving will be from 2:30 to 8 p.m. Early sausage sales will be on Thursday, Jan. 28 from noon to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, Jan. 30 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
