Jaycees seek sponsorships for Highland dog park
The Highland Jaycees are seeking sponsorships and/or donations to help make the city’s first dog park become a reality.
The park will encompass a little over an acre and feature a two vestibule fenced-in play area to accommodate both large and small dogs. The city plans to run water to the park to support water fountains and slash pads for the dogs. Each vestibule will contain an agility course and will connect via a pavilion located in the center of the park. Other park amenities will include benches, trash receptacles and waste stations. The estimated cost of developing the Highland Jaycees Dog Park is $30,000 to $35,000.
“As Jaycees, we strive to achieve the best. As an organization, we have recently ran multiple projects in to support the dog park, in addition to prior years’ funds we have set aside from the proceeds of Schweizerfest,” said Zachary J. Resmann, Highland Jaycees president. “However, in order to fully succeed, we will need additional funding and grass roots support from the business owners and citizens of our community.”
Sponsorships from $5,000 to $100 are available.
“The dog park has the potential to draw attention from all across the region yielding increased commerce to the city, benefiting all of its businesses,” Resmann said.
The pavilion will feature plaques and personalized bricks recognizing all sponsors.
“We are extending our hand with a unique opportunity for business and individuals to permanently invest in the community, while at the same time, providing an opportunity to promote your name or business through a sponsorship. Dividends will pay for years to come through a modest act of community support,” Resmann said.
The Jaycees also welcome monetary donations from those who would like to support the Dog Park but are not interested in a sponsorship.
